Culture Collision is back! Get united with Houston's Arts Scene on May 23

Summer is almost here and that means the 2011-2012 Theater District season is about to close. If you're one of the die-hard theater lovers like me, you're probably pretty bummed that for the most part, you won't get your fix of ballets, operas, plays and symphonies until September (insert sad face here).

But have no fear! Houston Young People for the Arts and Brookfield Properties are teaming up with Advantage BMW Midtown for Culture Collision - a unique happy hour that unites Houston urbanites with the performing and visual arts. Join us from 6-8 p.m. next Wednesday, May 23 for an evening of light bites from Sambuca and Phoenicia, libations courtesy of Saint Arnold's and Dripping Springs vodka, music by DJ Derek Jones, the chance to win great prizes and of course, the opportunity to talk to representatives from the theater and museum districts about what's in store for 2012-2013.

Groups reppin' their crafts include Houston Young People for the Arts, Emerging Leaders, Asia Society Young Professionals, Bayou City Art Festival, DiverseWorks 3D, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Fresh Arts, Health Museum’s Professional Circle, Houston Arts Alliance, Houston Ballet Ballet Barre, Houston Grand Opera O.N., Houston Symphony YPB, Society for the Performing Arts, The Studio at the CAMH, Theatre Under The Stars UP @ TUTS and Urban Souls Dance Company.

Best of all? This event is totally free & Advantage BMW is treating everyone to complimentary valet. Do us a favor and RSVP, though. Just e-mail mseuffert@downtownhouston.org. More info available at www.houstondowntownalliance.com.
