"The Strongest of Us” is a mural about reversing food insecurity in vulnerable communities, especially among single mothers (United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2). Food insecurity remains a major challenge in the United States and Houston. Single mothers with children have historically had the highest levels of food insecurity; they are more than three times as likely to experience it than married-couple households with children.
