Call For Artists - Resiliency in the HeART of Downtown

Downtown Houston+ (DTH+) invites qualified artists and artist teams to submit Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for Resiliency in the HeART of Downtown, a public art initiative that commissions original posters that reflect resilience, cultural identity, and community strength within Downtown Houston.

Each poster will incorporate a QR code provided or approved by DTH+ that links viewers to
a centralized disaster preparedness and resiliency awareness webpage and video. The
intent is to pair compelling visual storytelling with clear, accessible pathways to critical
information related to emergency readiness, climate resilience, and community resources.

Artists will receive a commission of $2,000 at the conclusion of the design process.

This project is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.

Downtown Redevelopment Authority/TIRZ #3 (DRA)

DRA / RFP-260123 Request for Proposals: Tranquillity Park Fountain Decking

The Downtown Redevelopment Authority (DRA) is seeking proposals from (Contractors) for Tranquillity Park Fountain Decking.

Tranquillity Park is a landmark civic space in Downtown Houston, named for the Sea of Tranquillity—the site of the Apollo 11 lunar landing. Over time, key park features have fallen into disrepair, including the fountain, which has been non-functioning for an extended period. This project represents a strategic first step in repositioning the fountain as an active, engaging focal point. The proposed intervention introduces composite decking and a performance platform within the existing fountain basins, revitalizing the space in a deliberately non-invasive manner that preserves the integrity of the original structure.

RFP documents and subsequent addenda will be available on both the Organization's website and civcastusa.com
