Details
Named after the Sea of Tranquility, this serene park next to City Hall features grassy embankments and reflective pools. Built to honor the Apollo 11 mission, it opened in 1979 on the 10th anniversary of the moon landing.
Plaques throughout the park commemorate Neil Armstrong’s iconic words: “Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed,” translated into multiple languages, celebrating a moment that united the world.
