It is a pledge to creating a world where kids are safe and free to live their childhood; an inclusive world that protects their rights and places them at the center of key decisions for our future.
Inspired by the nomination of the city of @houston in 2024 as the first @unicef Child-Friendly City in the United States, the mural is also an opportunity to reflect on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which serves as a framework for UNICEF's Child-Friendly Cities Initiative and aims to guarantee that children's best interests are always the primary consideration.
This colorful and vibrant piece features a daughter on her father's shoulders. The composition highlights the dad as the caregiver raising up his child and bringing her new perspectives in a secure environment. The purpose is to bring us back to our own childhood and remind us about the importance of protecting these innocent moments for every children.
The mural supports achieving the @unitednations Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 11, 13 & 16.2.
