Grant Programs + Incentives

Downtown Houston+ is committed to supporting a stronger, more active Downtown.

We support property owners, businesses and developers through targeted funding for building improvements, storefronts and patios, and broader development and investment that continue to shape Downtown's growth.

Thrive Storefront Grant Program

Downtown Houston+ offers ground-level storefronts the opportunity to receive funding for improvements through our Thrive Storefront Grants program. Funded by the Houston Downtown Management District, this program seeks to increase retail activity and street-level vibrancy through 1:2 matching grants of up to $50,000.

This program will not be receiving applications for the Spring 2026 cycle.

Facade Improvement Grants

Through the Downtown Redevelopment Authority (DRA), the Facade Improvement Grant offers up to $250,000 in targeted facade improvement grants to help property owners and tenants revitalize buildings within the TIRZ #3 boundaries.

For the Spring 2026 cycle consideration, applications must be submitted by 5:00PM Central Time on May 11, 2026.
