“The Meeting” is a mural about the war in Ukraine and the promotion of peace (United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16). War has been a catastrophe for Ukraine and a crisis for the globe. The world has become more unstable and fearful since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022. Houston made clear statements in support of Ukraine and has decided to suspend its Sister City relationship with Tyumen and its long-standing partnership with Moscow until free and open dialogue can resume.
