2025 Cactus Jack HBCU Classic

The 3rd Annual Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Classic is set for Friday, February 14 through Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Daikin Park. The Classic, is an annual, round-robin collegiate baseball classic designed by the Astros Youth Academy and Astros Foundation and to highlight Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their baseball programs.

The nine-game tournament will feature Houston-area Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern University, and four schools from neighboring Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama – Southern University, Grambling State, Jackson State, and Alabama A&M University.

• Round-robin format with three (3) games each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
• State to State game matchups (JSU vs AAMU.; GSU vs. SUBR; TSU vs. PVAMU)
• College fair hosted by the Astros Youth Academy highlighting over 100 colleges and universities.

While the Daikin Park roof protects from rain and excessive heat, the ballpark gets cold in the winter months. When planning your day, be sure to dress as if you are watching these games outdoors.
