2026 UHD Annual Chili Cook-Off

Get those tastebuds ready to taste, judge, and vote on lots of chili at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Annual Chili Cook-Off on UHD’s South Deck, complete with spectacular views of downtown Houston.
The community is encouraged to attend this outdoor, family-friendly event with music, adult beverages (ages 21 and older), and booths with a variety of wares from local businesses. Attendees will enjoy a vibrant festival experience with a DJ, face painting, bounce house, photo booth, carnival games, video games, and a very special appearance by UHD mascot Ed-U-Gator. The first 100 registered attendees will receive an exclusive UHD Chili Cook-Off swag item at the Hospitality Tent Check-in.
There’s truly something for everyone—even the chili ranges from spicy to mild!
Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off will benefit UHD students by supporting scholarships and providing basic needs assistance. This event is made possible by sponsors Bartlett-Cocke General Contractors, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 4MyLogo.com, and S&S Recovery.
