First Methodist Houston invites the community to participate in Ash Wednesday observances through Curbside Ashes and a special noon service on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

First Methodist Houston will be offering Curbside Ashes at two locations for those who wish to receive ashes and a moment of prayer:
• Downtown Campus: Pastors and church members will be outside on Clay Street in front of the church’s Downtown Campus, located at 1320 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002, from 7 AM to 7 PM,
• West Campus: Curbside Ashes will also be served to the pick-up line at Westchase Neighborhood Schools at 10570 Westpark Dr, Houston, TX 77042, from 3 PM to 4 PM.

Additionally, a noon Ash Wednesday service will be held at the Downtown Campus from 12 PM to 1 PM. This service will feature sacred music and moments of contemplation, providing a meaningful opportunity for individuals who work in Houston to participate during their lunch hour.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of reflection and preparation leading up to Easter. Christians worldwide observe this day by receiving ashes on their foreheads as a sign of repentance and a reminder of human mortality.

All are welcome to participate in these observances, regardless of religious background.
