Spanish Texas During the American Revolution: Life and Legacy

The Heritage Society invites the community to the Grand Opening of Spanish Texas During the American Revolution: Life and Legacy, a landmark America250 exhibition that reframes the Revolutionary era through the experiences of Tejanos and Spanish settlers who shaped the Gulf Coast frontier.

Guests will enjoy an evening of history, culture, and community featuring special presentations by Dr. Tim Seiter, historian of Spanish Texas, and Gustavo Hinojosa, Executive Director of the Mexican American Museum of Texas. Together, they will illuminate the stories of diplomacy, daily life, military service, and the cattle drives that sustained Spanish support for the American Revolution.

Attendees will be the first to explore the exhibition’s bilingual panels, replica objects, descendant stories, and the life‑sized bull centerpiece representing the cattle contributions that helped fuel Bernardo de Gálvez’s campaigns.
