Get ready to move, groove and celebrate vibrant living at any age! The Great Age Movement, a nonprofit dedicated to activating and empowering seniors through dynamic wellness programming, is partnering with Discovery Green Conservancy to present the inaugural “Great Age on the Green” — a high-energy health and wellness music festival and fashion show — on Friday, April 24, 2026, from noon to 5 p.m. in the heart of Downtown Houston.
 
Designed to inspire movement, connection and joyful longevity, this free, family-friendly celebration will spotlight the power of staying active, engaged and stylish at every stage of life.
 
Beloved The Young and the Restless star Kate Linder will emcee the afternoon, setting the tone for a feel-good festival packed with live performances by John Nevitt and Houston’s blues sensation Diunna Greenleaf. DJ Diva Beats will keep the momentum going in the intergenerational dance zone, spinning crowd favorites that invite guests of all ages to move their bodies. The Houston Ballet will also offer a class in Dance2Thrive at the event.
 
From mindful movement to playful competition, attendees can flex their fun with activities on the Hagstette Family Putting Green, Carruth Foundation Bocce Ball, Trini’s Shuffleboard Court and Bingo on the Jones Lawn. Guests can energize their spirits during Hula Hoop sessions led by Mad About Hoops and experience Fusion Movements — an uplifting blend of yoga, Tai Chi and dance designed to strengthen balance, flexibility and core vitality. Instagram-worthy photo moments and interactive experiences will capture the day’s contagious energy.
 
The wellness inspiration continues with cutting-edge health talks from leading experts, including Dr. Anay Patel, orthopedic surgeon with Texas Orthopedic Hospital, Dr. Christina Paruthi, board-certified cardiologist with St. Luke’s Health, and business performance coach Jon Purpura of Elevate Advisory, who will share insights on optimizing physical health, resilience and purpose-driven living.
 
Style meets strength during a vibrant runway presentation styled by Lenny Matuszewski, celebrating confidence, self-expression and ageless fashion. The show will feature the latest looks from The Guild Shop, Alchemia, and more. Reserved runway seating will be available, offering guests an up-close view of this empowering style showcase.
 
Convenient street and garage parking are available nearby, and a variety of nourishing food and beverage options will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon. Sponsorship proceeds benefit both Discovery Green Conservancy and Great Age Movement, supporting expanded access to wellness programming across Houston.
