Horizon, A New Interactive Art Installation Coming to Avenida Houston
WHAT: Visitors to the Plaza at Avenida Houston will soon be able to slow down and unwind with an innovative new art installation that promises to transform parts of the entertainment campus into a tranquil escape. Horizon is an egg-shaped dome that inspires visitors to ignite their imagination as they gently rock the chair inside the interactive structure to activate a unique blend of light and sound.
Horizon was created by artist Olivier Landreville in collaboration with Serge Maheu, a sound and light designer. Houston First Corporation (HFC) is again partnering with Creos and Init, both internationally renowned companies leading the way in bringing world-class interactive installations to public spaces.
Houston First values the power of art to empower the public to actively engage, explore and connect with the world around them. As part of our core mission, HFC is pleased to bring the Horizon exhibit to the community to experience free of charge. Six Horizon domes will be located along the Plaza.
WHEN: The installation runs July 4, 2026 - September 7, 2026
WHERE: The Plaza at Avenida Houston (between the George R. Brown Convention Center and Discovery Green Park)
