This June, Houston Ballet is ending their season in dramatic fashion with a triple bill that spans generations of iconic choreographers. Sparrow: A Triple Bill includes Sparrow, an original work from Artistic Director Stanton Welch, AM, that takes the audience on a musical and visual journey through the works of 60s icons Simon & Garfunkel; Four Last Songs, a deeply emotional, poetic reflection on the journey of life and the inevitability of letting go from Houston Ballet Artistic Director Emeritus Ben Stevenson O.B.E presented by the company for the first time in nearly 20 years with a sweeping, operatic score by Richard Strauss; and Balanchine's iconic Theme & Variations, a brilliant display of classical ballet at its most intricate and refined, set to the final movement of Tchaikovsky’s Suite No. 3 in G major—a series of 12 variations that build to a triumphant polonaise.
