Details

KRISTIN MARIE BACHMANN | Sacred Space is a site-specific art installation of 35 new woven sculptural works encompassing the 2nd floor of Texas Tower (845 Texas Avenue) in Downtown Houston.

The works on view are from Bachmann’s Faith | Doubt series and make up part of Ancestors, a larger body of work currently under development.

Created over the last two and a half years, Faith | Doubt explores inverse, scale, materiality, and color. While the individual works begin with the study of a weave structure, when composed spatially, they expand and become something more: an investigation about the relationships between and amongst the works; an installation about the choreography of movement and the body’s experience through space; and a statement on the marking of time in an era dominated by the proliferation of digital media.

The installation is Part 4 of the Artist Series at Texas Tower and the first to span the entire 2nd floor.
