UHD’s Rhythm & Books Series, a series of intimate, live recordings, goes international! On Tuesday, April 7, the University of Houston-Downtown welcomes the London-based band Yuuf, known for their original compositions ranging from ambient music to driving grooves, to campus. This installment of Rhythm & Books is in partnership with the UHD Academic Success Center’s "Unplugged" series and is free and open to the public.
Each of Yuuf’s four band members originate from a different country (England, France, Switzerland, and Denmark), and they draw from their unique cultural backgrounds for the band’s original compositions. Bassist Anthony Boatright, guitarist Hugo Cottu, drummer Oliver Overgaard, and percussionist Andrin Haag naturally blend their diverse musical tastes to shape the rich sound of Yuuf’s dreamlike music. A stunning YouTube live session of their debut EP “In The Sun-Live in Surrey Hills” currently has an impressive 2.6 million organic views.
